Hello, friends. Can we talk about laundry for a moment today?
Laundry.
I hatez it.
I am the girl who waits until she is completely out of articles of clothing to do laundry.
I may, or may not, also be the girl who has worn bathing suit bottoms as undies on occasion.
(not just in college)
For me, laundry is the biggest pain in the ass chore you could give me. I will never be that housewife you come home to find ironing and folding clothes.
(apologizing in advance to my future husband)
Shit, I'm lucky if my clean clothes even make it to my closet and drawers.
These two hooligans thoroughly enjoy that I lack the laundry gene.
They make beds on my dirty clothes and it's slightly disturbing, if we're being real here.
Also, even more disturbing, they enjoy eating panties. When I do actually take the plunge to do a load (or 10) I have to dig under my bed to find the majority of my underroos.
Gross.
If they were grown men I believe they'd have multiple ads on Craigslist, "seeking a young girlfriend".
These $90 velour Juicy sweat pants?
One of those sweet faced (future Craigslist creepers), little cutiekins up there have managed to digest not one but three pieces of $90 Juicy velour in their lifetime.
I know what you're thinking, I'm not even mad - that's amazing. Yeah, me too.
Or not.
They're lucky I had to learn to sew during the process of obtaining my degree in Fashion Design & Merchandising (which I use so often now).
Maybe if I actually got around to doing laundry every once in a while this would not be an issue.
Moral of this story... Well, I'm not really sure. I just needed to rant about all of the dirty clothing I have on my bedroom floor right now that I need to wash. I'm on the verge of being out of bathing suit bottoms which means it's either do a load or freeballin - which I tend to try and stay away from. Anyone want to come over and help a sister out? I supply wine and lots of it.
One last thing before I leave you for the day and not do laundry.
I lost my phone for about 45 minutes last night and later found it in my fridge...
Maybe I need to lay off the vino.
But if I did that I never would have found it. Riddle me that.
Hash tag catch22.

I actually love doing laundry. I just don't like ironing ... so I don't. I do laundry every week. My husband was a lot like you when we first met. But now I do all of his laundry. So maybe you need a husband that likes to do laundry?
ReplyDeleteI start the laundry, then just keep rerunning it through the washer cause I forget to put it in the dryer...or the dryer til I finally remember and dump it on top of the dresser. It's a mess.
ReplyDeleteOn several occassions I have also worn my bathing suit bottoms as undies when low on laundry. No shame in that game!
ReplyDeleteI currently have 3 baskets of clothes waiting to be folded...it will probly never get done and I will either rewash them, or throw them in the dryer to get the wrinkles out.
ReplyDeleteEverything in this post happens to me on the reg. hashtag kid you not! Our dogs must be conspiring together. Well everything except EVER thinking I should lay off the vino, that's just a joke.
ReplyDeletethis has to be the best post ever, as i was reading this i was like thank God i am not the only one
ReplyDeleteI don't mind doing laundry at all. I actually enjoy it, weird huh?! I hate folding and ironing though. My dog loves panties too. It drives me crazy. Sick little puppies!!
ReplyDeleteWhen my dog lived with me he ate my underwear too! It is SO disturbing. And sure enough, if I needed to find them, they'd be under the bed. What's with that?!
ReplyDeleteOk, so I love the undie eaters confession. Our dog ate my undies and swallowed them once, we had to call the vet and she barfed em up after a teaspoon full of hydrogen peroxide (tip). I HATE laundry, I live out of the dryer, the stuff never makes it to my drawers lol. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI hate hate hate doing laundry! I LOVE cleaning and organizing...except for laundry! It's not necessarily the doing it part I guess, but I hate to put it away! Sometimes baskets of clean (even folded) laundry will sit there for a couple days before it finally makes it's way to a drawer...maybe I just keep hoping that it will get there itself?
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAA I loved this! Future Craigslist creepers...
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on loathing laundry. My kids are 2 and 5 and I make them load, unload and put away their own clothes because I don't want to! Oh and I've left my phone in the fridge before so don't feel bad :)
ReplyDeleteUgh, I'm SO the worst about doing laundry. I honestly don't even know the last time I did laundry. But, my dogs eat underwear too! but, only my sisters. Strange, right?

Sometimes, if I'm in the mood... I absolutely LOVE doing laundry, other times... Not so much. I can't tell you how many pairs of underroos due to K9 fascination, ew.
ReplyDeleteAnywayyy, I'd love to help you out, we'd have a fantastic wine induced laundry doing & folding partay! haha!
<3 Melissa
My pups would love your pups. She destroys all the underoos in the house! It's a good thing they're cute!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes buy new undies instead of washing mine. That's sad. I can't believe I just posted that for the world to see.
ReplyDeleteAlso, my dog makes beds out of my dirty clothes and I always get upset, like you are being creepy, you lil 3 pound devil. But then I think, maybe they just smell like me, and she loves me, so whatevs.
Do not lay off the vino. If you did, you could never come to KY and do a winery tour with me.
I'm a pro at doing laundry... folding and putting it away? Notsomuch. And did someone mention iron?! Hahahahaha!;)
ReplyDeleteJust buy new panties. Problem solved yo.
ReplyDeleteYou should see my pile of dirty clothes right now.. it's slightly embarrassing. Also, I have clean clothes sitting in the dryer that have been there AT least a week. I just get them out as I need them. haha! So pathetic.
ReplyDeleteI love doing laundry but I hate putting it away.
ReplyDeleteSo usually Em's laundry gets put away, the husband puts his away, and then mine just sits there waiting until the pile gets big enough and I get annoyed with it then I put it away.
I totally feel ya on the laundry issue and do the same thing myself. Tomorrow I will wear my last clean dress to work tomorrow, wear dirty jeans on Friday, and then force myself to do a month's worth of laundry over the weekend. And ironing? Yeah right. Maybe I can talk the boyfriend into helping me fold/hang/put it all away... but I probably won't be so lucky...
ReplyDeleteAlso, the last story about the cell phone and the wine was amazing and funny. And I love your "hashtag."
--Halie
Hahaha oh my gosh, our dogs are SO much alike. What is it with dogs and devouring clothing?! Our little pup has eaten twelve...yes TWELVE pairs of my shoes/boots/sandals. She's lucky she is cute and hasn't suddenly become homeless. And the panties thing - seriously. My dogs do it too...kind of creepy.
ReplyDeleteDon't lay off the wine, you'll go crazy. Trust me!!! ;)
hahah i feel ya - i may or may not have done laundry since I moved into school... 24 days ago... I am running out of socks, so i wore flip flops out into the rain today.
ReplyDeletehaha i despise laundry too and yep, my dog definitely is a panty theif/eater. gross, what is it with them??! also, the phone in the fridge is hilarious. nice work! :)
ReplyDeleteAdd Reagan to that list of Craigslist Creepers. He eats my undies too!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha you seriously crack me up. I don't even know what to say, Whit.
ReplyDeleteI'm the worst when it comes to laundry. THE WORST. I feel you.
ReplyDeletehaha I'm having the same issue with laundry right now. Every night when I get home from work and change into my PJ's, I just throw my clothes onto the stack on top of my laundry basket. I've been thinking about doing laundry for about 2 weeks now and just never muster up the energy to do it. Glad there's another girl out there that hates it as much as I do.
ReplyDeleteOMG - I don't even do my boyfriends laundry, it makes me hateful. I loathe laundry. And sometimes even once it makes it to the dryer, I will put the "No wrinkle" setting on for 120 minutes so I have extra time not to go down and fold it. Lazy gator, not ok - I've googled, how to make myself love to do laundry. No helpful hints. (my relationship with google is a whole other thing, I'll stop here).
ReplyDeleteI don't mind doing laundry except the putting away part. I will RESTART the dryer at least 1/2 dozen times :)
ReplyDeleteOMG i have done the SAME thing with my phone in the fridge. HAHAHA hilarious.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha! I love the phone in the fridge....mostly because I've put mine there on occasion, or Jordan has hidden mine there.
ReplyDeleteMy dogs like to eat my pretty under things as well....I could kill them every time, but then I decide that they are not so much replaceable as the cloth. I just don't understand why they need to eat it. YUCK!
Try doing one load of laundry every day. I hate laundry about as much as you do, but I find I hate it less, if I know I ONLY have to put away ONE load, and there isn't more waiting. It works.
I'm totally wearing dirty pants to work today. I have zero clothes left. I only do laundry when I'm out of undies like you said. And your dogs are cute and all, but I'd murder mine if he ate my undies, haha!
ReplyDeleteOMG. Thank you for reminding me I have clothes in the washing machine right now! Yep, definitely were supposed to be dried last night. Betcha didn't think this post would save my whites, did ya? Also, laughed out loud at your phone in the fridge! The other day Dom lost his in the grill. How does that happen??
ReplyDeleteI feel ya,sista! Laundry is a naughty word in my house! I have 4 kids & a hubby who wears 2 sets of clothes a day (work uniform & "real" clothes). I have limited my laundry duty to Sundays only. If it don't get washed on Sunday it ain't gettin washed.
ReplyDeletehaha the phone in the fridge! I leave mine in the pantry all. the. time. And laundry is seriously the worst thing ever. We have a w/d in our apartment (really rare in our town for a rental) and we'll do laundry about every couple weeks. We have like eight containers acting as laundry bins. for shame.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I hate hate hate doing laundry! HAHA I totally do the "wait until you literally have nothing to wear and then wash the clothes" game... and then I forget about them, and have to rewash them because they got so wrinkled! Oops! Cooper used to eat my panties, but he doesn't anymore. Thank GOODNESS. I almost had to by stock in Victoria's Secret. :)
ReplyDeletehahaha thats too funny that you left your phone in the fridge! and your dogs are way too cute! love them!!! Good luck with your laundry! Im the SAME way too!
ReplyDeleteHahaha you're phone in the fridge?! I die. So funny! I put mine in the washing machine.. twice. But it seems like you probably wouldn't do that ;) I did it when I washed my sheets bc I do that more often than my clothes. Hold a sec, did I already know you were an Apparel Merch major? And did I already tell you I was too?! I can't remember shit. I must get that lovely trait from my mother. Ps. The pups are adorbs panty chewers or not!
ReplyDeleteomg you put your phone in the fridge! sami was right....i love you.
ReplyDeletehaha true that with the phone. And where did you go to school? I am also a Merch major- product development though..
ReplyDeleteI have laundry to do tonight and I am not looking forward to it. I actually have to look behind my couch because sometimes when I get home I just take my clothes off and throw them and they land who knows where. It does make an exciting scavanger hunt. I have left my phone inside my cabinet once and I almost cried. It was bad, I had to email someone to call it and I felt like a complete idiot.
ReplyDeleteWhitney...MADE my day! I needed a good laugh. I hate with a capital H doing laundry and NEVER put it away. I use the "turn on the dryer to get the wrinkles out" ironing plan. I've so left my phone in the fridge before too...wtf
ReplyDeleteI am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I am not the only person on a the planet with a little white dog who eats their underwear. Although in my case, it is more like destroys. And he is not nice about chewing on the seams. He kills things. Especially expensive things like my Spankx.......
ReplyDeleteI so hate laundry too haha! :) I'm new to your blog and love it!
ReplyDeletexo
I have also "lost" my phone in the fridge before... so glad its not just me!!!
ReplyDeleteI actually don't mind doing laundry at all. It's the one chore I will actually do!
ReplyDeleteThe more I read the more I love....we differentiate clean from dirty in our house this way. The mountain on top of the dryer is clean...the mountain on the floor is dirty. When I have no more underwear I wash....but in college my roomie and I used to just go buy new...sometimes weekly. We were bad...
ReplyDeleteLove that your degree was in fash design and merchandising. I work in merchandising and my degree was in history. Go figure right?
I'm a new follower and I just laughed out loud at this post! (I'm starting to get funny looks from coworkers) But I despise laundry too. Somehow, I've trained my husband to do it for me! But I think the only reason he does it is because if he doesn't, he won't have any clean clothes... :)
ReplyDeleteI HATE LAUNDRY
ReplyDeleteTHE END
Also not a fan of laundry over here. Our hamper is currently overflowing and I just can't bring myself to do it. Just can't. And ironing? I NEVER do. No shame.
ReplyDeleteAs for the phone in the fridge...bahahaha.
I love that your phone was in the fridge! I have definitely left my phone in an odd place or two!
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm bored, I enjoy laundry. But the other 90% of the time, I hate it. It's the worst when it's not in your house/building and you have to walk outside or up stairs to do it.
ReplyDeleteLife Unsweetened
I have def left my phone in the fridge :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not alone cuz I was about to comment on this asking if I was weird for enjoying laundry but by the looks of it others do as well :)
ReplyDeleteMy dogs (particularly the diva named CHANEL) is big on hiding anyone's underwear that she can find. So disgusting! Maybe we should hook our pups up so they can creep Craigslist together.
ReplyDeleteHaha I don't mind doing laundry, but putting away the laundry? Completely different story...Soooo not happening. PS. Weiser ate a pair of Stewart Weitzman's the other day. He was so grounded.
ReplyDeleteWill work for wine any day! Especially for laundry - I actually ENJOY it. Imagine that?
ReplyDeleteDoing the dishes, however.... now that's another story.
I hate hate hate doing laundry. I procrastinate sooo bad when it comes to laundry I'll wait and do 2-3 weeks worth at a time so I can go long periods without it. There are times when I'll re-arrange my schedule to reduce the amount of undies I need to wear so I can hold out longer on doing laundry. Funny my dogs did the same thing. I don't know what it is with dogs and the crotch of undies but they seem to love them.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind doing laundry, but I DO wait until I have like a room full of dirty clothes. Therefore, I am ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS behind. Plus, my dogs love grabbing dirty clothes and carrying through the house. They also love licking my panties. Ew, gross.
ReplyDeleteI've never left my phone in the fridge, but I have found my missing keys in there before....
ReplyDeleteYour pictures on this post just crack me up!
ReplyDeleteLOL'd at this whole post. My husband literally about 20 minutes ago said, "SHAY. HOW many times are you going to wash that cycle in the washer!?" Ummm pretty sure I've washed the same stupid load 4 times because I'm too lazy to take the clothes out of the dryer to put the wet clothes in...that have mildewed over and over, and over again. Mildewed? Re-wash. 4 times. Probably gonna be 5. LAUNDRY IS THE DEATH OF MEEEE! Haha. xx
ReplyDeleteI think this post is my favorite so far. I swear we're twins with the whole laundry (and wine!) thing. I HATE laundry. I even have a button on my blog that says "I Blog to Hide From the Laundry", and it is so true! I'm lucky to have gotten a hubby who will actually do all the washing and drying...Now if I can just teach my kids to fold and put it all away, I'll be sittin' pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteHilarious! I also HATE laundry. If it weren't for my husband and son needing their underwear I would probably have no problem free ballin' hahaha! I love this post Whit!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I actually love the washing/drying/folding process... it's just the putting away/hanging up that I am seriously lazy about. B gets irritated with me for always having laundry baskets full of clean clothes. And when a basket does magically make its way to the closet... chances are it's my girl's clothes or they'll end up all over the floor!
ReplyDeleteAnd Milly is a panty-snatcher too. Maybe it's a small dog issue.
I hate laundry too! It's awful! I just keep buying new things so I don't have to do it, and then the load gets bigger and bigger and I dread it even more! And WHY do dogs love underwear?! My pit bull is obsessed with it. I actually have to gate the hamper so he can't get in and eat my undies!
ReplyDeleteamen! laundry is miserable!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Nicole Danielle, I don't mind the washing and drying process it's the putting away that I never seem to follow through with! My mother was over the other night and she made her way to my bedroom, I knew I was in for a bitchin (pardon my french) when I seen her walk in there. First thing out of her mouth was I didn't raise you have all this dirty clothes on the floor! My smart ass remark was "I know you didn't, that's why all that clothes is clean :)" before I knew it a pillow was flying my way! lol
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your puppies are adorable and the whole phone in fridge thing don't worry you're not alone on that one.
I effing hate laundry myself. Except baby laundry. For some reason.
ReplyDeleteI have to say it again- I love your blog look, I love that you're designing blogs, and I love that your blog has grown so fast!
I don't actually mind "doing" the laundry...but I hate folding it and putting it away. Maybe I'll come over and we can tag team it! Ha! My dog (one of them) eats dirty clothes too...particularly underwear and sweaty socks. Only mine though. Anyway the pic of your dogs on your clothes is ADORABLE...and I've also left my phone in the fridge before, ha :P
ReplyDeleteOnly you could make lacking in laundry an engaging discussion...i effin heart you!
ReplyDeleteYour posts crack me up! niki at glossyblonde.com raved about your blog!
ReplyDeletemy golden retriever stole my juicy hoodie last week =/
