Don't Take Me Seriously

Sometimes I get comments that really rub me a weird kind of way. Not even necessarily rude or snarky comments, because typically those give me a good laugh, but the kind of comments where I can tell someone just really doesn't get my sense of humor or the fact that 99% of my posts here on this blog are written out of pure sarcasm.

Of course, from time to time, I do get really real around here and occasionally I'll let you all in on a super, duper, big secret I've been holding in (Quite possibly my most favorite post on this blog, for the record.), but for the most part this is a light hearted space. Or at least I like to think so. That is the plan, most days.

It's really easy for me to forget that not all of you have been here since I got the bright idea to start a public blog and, I guess, that's where the disconnect comes in. Most days I just come here, get to clicky clicking on my keyboard, and completely forget that there's a good portion of people that are going to read what I'm writing who have never read my blog and/or have never spoken to me outside of that one post. I get it, I definitely get it.

I'm sure if you don't know me and you happen to see a post I've written, say, about where Taylor Swift is currently, you may feel the need to give me an update. But really, I just woke up that morning, heard her song on the radio, and somehow ended up writing that post as soon as I got to my computer. I didn't really need all of the information on the Swifty I received that day but then I remembered that I did, technically, ask for it. So, my bad.

Pretty much, what I came here to say today is that I don't want you to take me seriously. Most days, that is. Obviously if I get all serious about some personal shit, it's cool if you take that seriously, though usually I do enjoy a good ice breaking sarcastic comment on those posts. Actually, I always enjoy a good, fun comment full of smart ass-ness and, to be completely honest, those are usually the people whose blogs I'll seek out and try to connect with.

Anyways, that's my nonsense for today. Don't take me seriously
Unless you want to and then I'm assuming you think I'm a really twisted and deranged person. Actually, you may be on to something if you think that. Whatever, I'm just happy to be here and I'm happy to have you here. Yes, you. Thanks for reading, by the way.

Hey, now it's time to jam out and today I'm going straight 2000's because I recently reintroduced my ears to this song and, I've gotta tell you, it's the super sized, Pammy Anderson, tits. Pretty sure it's gotten a good 40 plays out of me in the past 3 days and I don't hate it one bit. Just listen to it, you won't be sorry. Or maybe you will.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I can't believe people provided you Taylor Swift updates all day, you were clearly not really wondering where she was. I know sometimes written sarcasm just flies right by some people but who really thinks you were putting out a BOLO for Swifty?

I understand a slight disconnect because we're readers on the body language desolate "internet" but how could someone think that you're serious? Unless sarcasm detection is only available to some select people? I'm stumped, guess it's time to go kick some kittens now.

First, I haven't been a part of the blogging world that long and therefore haven't followed you that long. But, what I've seen so far has made me want to go back and "catch up" on your life. I life that you are funny and honest. I like that you show the good and the bad. I like that I can read your blog and be entertained but still know you live a real life. Thanks you for that.

And also, I've always thought I discovered T.Swift because I loved the song Tim Mcgraw before it was cool. But now, she just needs to go on bout her business cause her shenanis are redic.

Sometimes I read comments and I'm just like...really? I write a dating disasters blog, so I get a lot of "I'm so sorry you hav eto go through this, that must have really hurt." I mean, really, if it hurt that much do you think I would be able to make a witty post out of it? Probably not. So I'm fine and thanks but no thanks for the pity party you're throwing in my honor.

Slash this comment was a tangent that I went on and probably doesn't really relate to your original intention with this post. Whatevs here it is.

HA! I love Theresa there, totes appropriate. I think sometimes I'm afraid to be sarcastic on the blog because I'm usually a serious post kinda gal and people might have a panic attack. Maybe I should start being more humorous like I am in real life...

Hope you have a great weekend love bug :)

I rarely take you seriously, unless it is obviously a serious post. I appreciate your sarcasm. When I read your post about T. Swift, I was honestly wondering where she was too. Why is she not flaunting some boy around? That's pretty much all she does.

OMG, who can't tell the difference between serious and sarcastic?! I think one of the first posts of yours I ever read was the story of your first brazilian wax and I've been coming back ever since for a good laugh. So, seriously, thanks for not being serious most of the time because the sarcastic shit you have to say is hilarious :)

It's art to be sarcastic in the blogland and pull it off well - and you do that. And it really doesn't take much intuition to figure out who is serious and who is not. Don't people do their research? Don't they look at previous posts before just judging one? Duhh

It's a good think I take you super seriously...I just went on my first unicorn ride last weekend (the double glitter rainbow we flew over was the icing on the cake!). ;) So thank you for all of your seriousness!

But seriously, I love your sarcasm and sense of humor. I haven't read your blog for very long and certainly haven't read every post you've ever written {ain't nobody got time for that}, but yours is one of my favorites to read for the exact reason this post is titled.. you don't take yourself too seriously and life needs more of that!

I am now questioning everything I "know" about you. "Does she REALLY wear yoga pants to work?" "DOES she/DOESN'T she believe in unicorns?" "Does she REALLY eject her USB without removing it safely?" (I'm a fairly new reader so this is the extent of my knowledge.)

As I was one of the TS "updaters" I hope you know that I knew you weren't seriously wondering. I just have an obsessive need to give information if I have it, lol.

And, I promise that I do not take you too seriously, lol.

You have a sense of humor that someone can't get, awwww! Poor little sissy britches! On a side note, I was stalking your IG last night and got inspired by all of your "nail creations"-- I was repeatedly reminded why I shouldn't try to have fancy nails or do that "ring finger glitter stuff". After one episode of Breaking Bad, there was glitter everywhere, including on my dog.

Once, when I had a profile on a dating site, there was a question like "Something I think about a lot", so obviously I answered "the average life span of a sumo wrestler." You would not beeeelieeeeve how many messages I got from dudes answering that question. As if I don't know how to Google.
